is our General Manager. With a postgraduate qualification in Poultry Health, he cares for our hens. From flock health to heavy machinery, Stephen keeps everything running smoothly. He’s also responsible for all site maintenance.

is the founder of Durham Hens and a director. Since establishing the business in 2007, she has combined practical expertise with a deep commitment to animal welfare and customer service. 

She is a novelist and non-fiction author.

is a director. He oversees our hatchery, as well as leading on sales and marketing. A Chartered Engineer by profession, Alec combines technical expertise with creative problem-solving. He designed the Durham Hen House—practical, durable, and comfortable.

Richard is our part-time delivery driver and brings a wealth of experience from public service and academia. He served as County Councillor for the Tow Law area for eight years. Richard holds a degree in History and Philosophy, as well as a Master’s in International Law.
