A multiple award-winning  family business established in 2007

IMPORTANT NOTICE

A case of Avian Influenza had been confirmed at Frosterley, 10 km from Durham Hens. As our property straddles the edge of the 10 km APHA surveillance zone, we are unable to sell hens, chicks, or fertile eggs until the restrictions are lifted. Not trading for up to 10 weeks during peak season will significantly reduce our business income and decimate our cash flow. The hens need to be fed and tended until they can be sold, hopefully, in August. As the hens can't be moved from our premises for so long, the economic decision would be to cull them and reduce our losses, but we are an ethical company and will not do that. Please support Durham Hens and help us get through this difficult time.

Pre-order hens now to collect them when the restrictions are lifted.

Buy poultry equipment and supplies. Our shop will be open on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm, or you can order online for nationwide delivery or to 'click and collect'.

Hatching Eggs - Bantam

Hatching eggs are usually available from February through to September.

All eggs are listed online when they are available, and the stock is updated daily during the season. Demand is high in the spring and summer, so please check back regularly.

You can order eggs for a future date rather than for immediate dispatch. Please specify in the comments section at checkout.

Eggs are posted in purpose-made packaging using Royal Mail Tracked 24. You can nominate a safe place when you order if you may not be at home to take delivery. Orders are posted on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The number or letter written on your hatching egg refers to the breeding pen from which it was collected. We have several breeding pens for each breed that we produce. If you ordered mixed eggs, check here to find out what breeds you can look forward to hatching.

If this is your first time hatching, we recommend you read our blog on hatching at home.
